Dear all,
I’m really glad that we could finally overcome all the obstacles and start our Sixer/Second Autumn Training Course! Special thanks are due to Mr Kelvin Ling, one of our scout leaders teaching at HKUGA College, who has kindly agreed to stay behind to be the teacher-on-duty for our evening sessions.
Thank you soooo much for your enthusiastic participation and fantastic performance in our kick-off session! I did have a great time with you guys despite the long schedule and the hot weather. I hope you all have enjoyed it and will benefit more and more as we proceed. In order to help you reap the most out of the course, we have to work hard even between sessions. Here are some tasks for you to complete before the next session on 4 Oct.:
- Please fill in the Reflective Journal (反思日誌) on the outline for Session 1, then write your name and ask your parent to sign below the reflection after each session;
- Please design an A4-sized cover and keep all your training materials in good order in a self-chosen A4 folder;
- Please bring something that reminds you of your best achievement or recognition from others and prepare a one-minute presentation on it;
- Please look for a non-fiction book, written in Chinese or English, from any bookstores or libraries, on leadership, team-building or nurturing good habits and write up a book report in either Chinese or English. A minimum length of 500 words is required, and the deadline for submission is 25 October 2008 (the last session). You may refer to, but need not be limited by, the examples of relevant books shown in the attachment 特別事工:閱讀報告.
- Please remember to check your emails regularly or, at least, on the night before each session, so that you won’t miss any important messages about the course.
For Chak Wing, Kai Ching, Justin, Cheuk Yin, grateful if you can remind your parents to send me their duly signed consent form, as per attached 229旅幼童軍08-09年度隊長隊副秋季訓練班學員招募(修訂) again, via email asap.
For Lok Sze and Cho Yin, can you tell me if you can attend our last session on 25 Oct. (1:30-3:00pm & 6:30-8:00pm)? If yes, please also remind your parents to send me their consent form at their earliest convenience. For Cho Yin, besides the missing book report, you still owe me your parent’s consent form and your folder cover for the summer training course!!!
Thank you for your patience in reading through this long message. Should you have any queries, please feel free to leave me a note or call me (9209 6484) any time.
Have a nice weekend! 😀
Cheers in scouting,
Madam Carmen
